KINGSLEY KOJO ANTWI ~ I Am

 I AM

I am
a lost tributary flowing into the marrow of life
Meandering my pride in a lost voyage
Daunted by the frown of a passing wind
Rolled and tossed into the dying dreams of a pauper
Sailing through my adversary liquor
One shot to heaven
Whispering a prayer for his gin
to wash me ashore beyond hades
A land where the shackles on tomorrow’s feet
Outweighs the fairy tales of hamlet

I am
a hunchback of truth in a lie
Carried on the lips of a widow
Who curses the sundown that birthed me
Still I will rise like the eleventh hour of Judas’ conscious
Tell the gatekeeper at Eden
The snail fear not the feet of the cheetah
For in his wisdom
he traded his beautiful hope for an ugly faith
Papa’s drums are singing;
Sabali! Sabali!
The roasted corn will take you home

Interview With Imoletoba Oluwatunmise - Owner Of Tic Footwears

Your brand tagline is (TIC). What does it mean to you, and how does it reflect the brand's values? TIC represents Timeless, Intentional, and Creative. To me, it means doing things with purpose and consistency. Every footwear produced under TIC Footwears is made with intention, creativity, and durability in mind. The brand values quality, growth, resilience, and customer satisfaction—principles that guide every step of our production process. Tic Footwears has been making waves in the footwear industry. What's the story behind the brand, and what inspired its creation? TIC Footwears was born out of life’s challenges and the need to create something meaningful despite having little support. I was inspired by a street uncle who shared his journey of learning a skill at 40 years old. His story encouraged me to start early and believe that growth has no age limit. The brand was created to turn hardship into purpose and to prove that consistency and faith can build something impactfu...

Interview With Youth Advocate, Comrade Kufre Matthew

Comrade Kufre, thank you for joining us today! As the Chairman of the Nigeria Youth Alternative Council (NYAC), Akwa Ibom chapter, what inspired you to take on this role and dedicate yourself to youth empowerment? Thank you very much. My inspiration comes from my deep concern about the untapped potential of young people in our society. I have seen many youths with ideas, energy, and passion but without proper guidance or platforms to express themselves. Accepting the role of Chairman of NYAC, Akwa Ibom State chapter, was a call to service—to create opportunities, amplify youth voices, and ensure young people are part of decision-making processes that shape their future. You've led initiatives like PVC awareness and voter registration drives. What strategies have you used to encourage young people to participate in democratic processes, and what impact have you seen? We focus on grassroots engagement—meeting young people where they are, both physically and digitally. Through PVC awa...

Seen Only When Needed

You asked. I gave what I could. Not everything. Just enough. After that, my messages felt quiet. Not because I stopped, but because you stopped seeing. The space between us grew. No fight. No goodbye. Just distance. I stayed available. You stayed away. I understood without words: people remember you when they need you, then forget when the need is gone. I didn’t hate you. I only learned that timing rules hearts, and silence teaches more than promises. Life moves like this: giving, taking, leaving questions. I stand with mine. If only time could listen.
